At the Organization for the Prevention of Blindness (OPC), we uphold the integrity of our practices, honor our commitments, and maintain rigor in how we use funds. Every partner, every donor, every beneficiary deserves our transparency and accountability.
- An independent annual financial audit
- Accounting verified by an independent accounting firm
- Both the accounting firm and independent auditor attend the annual general assembly of members and present their reports, which are then made public. All financial information OPC intends to disclose must be approved by the Statutory Auditor and the oversight committee, which is part of the board of directors
Additionally, since 2016, OPC has held the IDEAS label, awarded by an independent committee established by the Institute for the Development of Ethics and Actions for Solidarity (IDEAS). This label recognizes the quality of governance, financial management, and program monitoring. It’s a mark of trust for donors and sponsors.
How Will My Donation Be Used?
At the Organization for the Prevention of Blindness (OPC), we are committed to being a “glass house,” ensuring complete transparency about how every euro is spent. Ninety cents of every euro donated are directly invested in preserving the sight of the most vulnerable populations in Francophone Africa.
